Tawse is a family-owned winery located on the lower slopes of the Niagara Escarpment. Founder Moray Tawse had long been in love with Burgundy wines. He came up with the idea to open his state-of-the-art winery in 2005 after realizing the escarpment had the potential to become another world-class cool-climate wine region. Today, Jessica Otting leads the winemaking team whose dedication to producing exceptional, elegant, terroir-driven wines has been recognized four times as Canadian Winery of the Year.

At Tawse, winemaking begins in the vineyards. Healthy vines and quality fruit enable the production of local wines of great elegance, depth and character. They adopt a “hands-off as much as possible” philosophy. We are passionate about making wines that reflect our unique terroir and express a sense of place.
